So Vain

I'm so excited that we have finally started updating and working on our bedroom!  Seems like whenever we have some extra cash we always spend it on going out to eat, furniture for the living room or baby stuff.  This month we have really been wanting to make our bedroom a little more romantic and cozy!
Yesterday the vanity area got painted and i can't tell you how much I love it.  Before it was an ivory/butter cream color. Without replacing any light fixtures, cabinets or ANYTHING-just painting- it looks completely new!  The color we chose was Valspar's Hot Stone from Lowe's.  I totally forgot to take a good before pic so I apologize!

So without going into too much detail because I am probably the only one who really cares about it I just wanted to point out why this made a huge difference.
1.  the darker walls really make the grout in the back splash stand out...therefore your eyes are drawn to the tile back splash first, which i love.
2.  the darker color enhances the richness of the cherry wood cabinets.
3.  the all white ceiling enlarges the room
4.  the white ceiling removes the "yellowish/tannish" feel which no one likes!
5.  the trim looks newly painted...even though it isn't!  how did that happen?

LOVE IT!  Can't wait to do the bedroom this week in Vintage blue!

  1. I love your pictures! Isn't it amazing what a new coat of paint can do to a room? And then when it turns out even better than you anticipated, bonus!! Can't wait to see the pictures of finished dresser. Next, I would love to see pictures of you and Little Miss and Dusty. We miss you! Hugs and Kisses from us...
